Permission to use build_arm_toolchain.sh

So, I've used build_arm_toolchain.sh to build a couple of cross compilers. Mainly arm-elf and sh3-eb-elf. I want to release the modified version for sh3-eb-elf so other people can get the cross compiler. Would you allow that?

Re: Forcefully disconnect and reconnect USB device

Well, granted, I am modifying it a bit, so while I'm still working it out, bugs like that are to be expected. It's one of the USB steps when there is no Bus activity (meaning I think I've been trying to shut the device down, without fully shutting it down). I saw where you basically tell the PC to c...

Re: Forcefully disconnect and reconnect USB device

It's totally a USB specific functionality. A hub can request it go into "suspend" mode, but it can't directly suspend the device. The device is for some reason being suspended. (Like being configured but disabled I think will make it do that, which is probably where my problem is, but all ...

Re: Forcefully disconnect and reconnect USB device

Oh, sorry, should have been more specific. <random>I just got notified by email that you commented. I was faster than email!</random> Okay, so anyway. Whenever a USB device is physically attached to the hub, it goes through the process of getting powered, getting it's address, and getting configured...

Forcefully disconnect and reconnect USB device

This may seem like a strange request, but I need to know (C level coding, not in Java) how to forcefully disconnect the USB device from the bus. And then, of course, reattach it. I know it seems weird, but I know it's possible, because I got it to work before, but now I don't know how I got it to wo...

Re: Strange behavior on flashing of firmware

I have so far been unable to reproduce it. It happened under some very strange conditions though. ie, the firmware wasn't showing up as the usb device the driver would attach to, but instead it was my own descriptors and such, so I had to put it in SAMBA mode. I'll see if I can't do it again somehow...

Re: Strange behavior on flashing of firmware

Yes, it wrote it, verified it, etc. You know how the garbage will sometimes appear on the screen when going into SAMBA mode, presumably because of scraps of data is still on the screens memory? Well, that and the clicking is what notified me that it never booted into actual firmware. I did it a few ...

Strange behavior on flashing of firmware

I just found some interesting behavior while trying to re-flash an NXT. It would show up in the Firmware update mode, and start beeping. You could run nxjflash or nxjflashg and it would flash seeming correctly, but then it would reboot directly into Samba mode. I'm running off the SVN currently (0.9...

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

Yep, basically. Although you might want to try it now. I had to first flash it with windows come to think of it, but that was a long while ago, so I forgot. I can flash it easily with mac os x now.

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

You can flash it yes, but unless you can actually connect to the device, you can't send stuff to it. I would try it anyway, though.

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

Which, for the record, is why you need the driver. The firmware comes up as something completely different than the raw device when it's in firmware update mode.

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

It's very very VERY difficult to brick it, even if you forcefully try, I don't think it can be bricked completely.

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

Then I'm afraid I don't know. If the driver isn't attaching to it, then I don't know.

Re: I need help installing lejos on my nxt

Then it's definitely the driver. Reinstall the mindstorms software, and then install the patch and try again. I could give you more intricate details, but I'd rather not because it's a bit more complicated.

Re: Controlling motor degrees over usb

You basically make a program on the computer and on the nxt that opens up streams to each other and send data through those streams.
