Re: Problem with Mac 10.8 and Bluetooth

The instructions were easy to follow, but the end result wasn't working. (Had to try the svn checkout a couple times until a 502 bad gateway error went away.) With the standard BTsender demo, I'm getting exceptions: java -classpath ".:/Users/peter/Downloads/leJOS_NXJ_0.9.1beta-3/lib/pc/pccomm.j...

LeJos with Mirah

Mirah is a project which also ruby-like syntax to be used in writing Java code. Today I spent some time setting it up, here's what I did. Hopefully you can see the beauty of having this powerful syntax an a lego environment. > rvm install jruby > rvm use jruby > gem install mirah # https://github.co...

Re: jRuby on NXT Lejos

Just a quick update here:

@pepijndevos has suggested a piece of software called Mirah, which allows ruby-esque syntax on the NXT with Lejos.

Will be giving this a go when time is available!

Re: jRuby on NXT Lejos

Alright, I've done a bit more research from the JRuby end of things. It looks like this challenge shares some similarity to bringing JRuby to J2ME (java micro edition): for example, both omit reflection. As luck would have it, some work has been done here, but unfortunately just enough to show what ...

jRuby on NXT Lejos

Hi In the past few years, I've spent a lot of time learning Ruby (and Rails), and have a lot to like about the language. Recently I've been thinking over what it would be like to get this running on the NXT brick. There is a ruby-nxt project, but it hasn't been touched in years, and is missing the f...

Found some old code today

So I figured I'd release it. Hopefully it may be interesting and useful! https://github.com/pehrlich/Lejos-Libs The full description is there, but this includes usability enhancements to sensors, motors, buttons, the screen, behaviors, and more. Such things as port detection and stall detection, con...

Re: yo!

Does anyone use github? That site for me serves as a great example of collaborative tools done well. Personally, I still haven't tried git. I haven't found the time to study git so that I know how to workaround the usual problems in versioning systems (like line endings etc.). Do you think, you hav...

Reading exception

I know that this is around somewhere.. but trouble finding it I can read class and method through nxj -v. What is the Size parameter? And PC code? Is there any way to get the line number? It would be cool if there was a way to have it automatically pull up the trace on the computer... --Peter

Subsumption loop

Has anyone come accross this? Wondering how exactly one would go about implementing it.

Three behaviors:
Follow Line (overrules retreat)
Attack (overrules Follow Line)
Retreat (overrules Attack)

tricky eh?
