Where is the lejosimage.zip needed to make the SD card?

This is where you talk about the EV3 software itself, installation issues, and programming talk.

Where is the lejosimage.zip needed to make the SD card?

Postby fgfanta » Mon Dec 01, 2014 12:52 pm

Hi,
I cannot find the lejosimage.zip that I should download in the SD card. Where is it?

Instructions in the wiki say:

"You should then unzip the lejosimage.zip file from the leJOS home directory to the root directory of the card..."

But which home directory? The root installation of leJOS on my PC doesn't contain such a file:

Code: Select all

total 364
drwxrwxr-x  6 fanta fanta   4096 dic  1 12:52 ./
drwxrwxrwx 38 fanta fanta   4096 dic  1 13:18 ../
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta   3988 mag 29  2012 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS.txt
drwxr-xr-x  2 fanta fanta   4096 mag 29  2012 bin/
drwxr-xr-x  3 fanta fanta   4096 mag 29  2012 build/
drwxr-xr-x  4 fanta fanta   4096 mag 29  2012 docs/
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta   1525 mag 29  2012 LEGAL.txt
drwxr-xr-x  4 fanta fanta   4096 mag 29  2012 lib/
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta  19663 mag 29  2012 LICENSE.txt
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta  22833 mag 29  2012 README.html
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta   2664 mag 29  2012 README.txt
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta  49806 mag 29  2012 RELEASENOTES.txt
-rw-r--r--  1 fanta fanta 234199 mag 29  2012 samples.zip

I can see the file is somewhere in the GIT repositories, but which version should I fetch?

Thanks!

What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to install a released version of leJOS (which version?) from Linux? What is that a directory listing off? Tell us what it is you have done (what have you download etc.), and why and we may be able to help...

Thank you for your message. I am installing leJOS on my PC (running ubuntu 14.10 64-bit) and in the EV3 brick, following instructions I have found at http://sourceforge.net/p/lejos/wiki/Installing%20leJOS/

I have downloaded the latest released version of leJOS from http://sourceforge.net/projects/lejos/files/lejos-EV3/, which is leJOS_NXJ_0.9.1beta-3.tar.gz

I have unpacked the .tar.gz file in a directory called ~/ leJOS_EV3 and built with ant the native library which is needed for USB support. So far so good.

Now I am trying to make the micro SD card necessary to install leJOS in the EV3 brick. Instructions at the above link say:
You should then unzip the lejosimage.zip file from the leJOS home directory to the root directory of the card...

Problem is, I cannot find the lejosimage.zip file. Where do I take it from exactly?

That is the download for the NXT not for the EV3. The EV3 downloads are here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lejos/ ... .8.1-beta/
The EV3 downloads will have EV3 in the name, the NXT downloads will have NXT.
As you can see from the text at the bottom of this page, you need the .tar.gz version for Linux.

At the top of the donwload page for EV3 there is a link

"Looking for the latest version? Download leJOS_NXJ_0.9.1beta-3.tar.gz (13.7 MB) "

which I had followed, but it points to the latest version for NXT.

I have donwloaded and am now installing leJOS_EV3_0.8.1-beta.tar.gz, and have found lejosimage.zip as you said.

Thank you very much for your help.
