Link to plugin is not working again again

This is where you talk about the EV3 software itself, installation issues, and programming talk.

Link to plugin is not working again again

Postby poulabildgaard » Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:31 pm

Hi
Sorry to ask again but I have made no progress. Hi
I have tried installing the ev3 plugin directly from Elipse Marketplace, but it still says "Could not find https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/lejos-ev3-plug" The same result appears using source forge.
Has the link been changed?

I'm running windows 10 JDK 7 and Eclipse Mars 4.5
Thansk for any help

Poul

Did you see my response to your previous post? Out of interest why have you waited so long to try it again? After your previous post I spent time actually setting up a new install just to check things, so some response would have been nice!

It works fine for me and there have been many installs in the last month (look at the statistics for the market place). There have been no other reports of problems here on the forum. So I can only conclude that there is some sort of problem with your setup.

All I can suggest is that you start again from a clean (recent version) of eclipse (mars is very old now) and provide details of exactly what error you get and when you get the error. So for instance are you saying that you get an error if you click on the following link?
https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/lejos-ev3-plug
within your web browser? The above works fine for me. If it doesn't for you then perhaps you have some sort of internet issue?

Hi
Thanks for your help. I am sorry I didn't give any respond, but that was actually out of politenes. I did not want to take any more of your time :(
I have waited because my NXT - version is functioning very well, but now I am forced to change to EV3. Your link doesn't work for me. I have tried Neon 4.6 and now I can't even drag and drop the plugin - link, which I have been able to so far???
I have installed a fresh vertsionb of Java 7, eclipse and lejos but nothing works.
If I have an intern issue maybe the answer lies in this report I get, when I use Mars.

Using my old Mars I can drag and drop but then I get this message:
Thanks again for your help.

best regards
Poul

What happens if instead of doing the drag and drop you search for the lejos plugin from within the eclipse "install new software" wizard?

Eureka! I have tried several times using the wizard but with the same result. But this time you made me look more closely at Eclipse itself. I used the link to Eclipse Marketplace from the Help - menu. And from there I searched for EV3 and pressed install - and it worked!! Thanks a lot.
Best regards Poul
