USB - NXT connectivity issues

Postby outo » Mon Jan 28, 2008 9:13 pm

Hello all,

Did anybody came across the same problem? I do not seem to be able to establish a USB connection between PC and NXT with given name and address in the following way:

Code: Select all

public boolean connect(String name, String address) {
   NXTComm nxtComm = NXTCommFactory.createNXTComm(NXTCommFactory.USB);
   NXTInfo nxtInfo = new NXTInfo(name, address);
   System.out.println("name: " + nxtInfo

using this method without any initialization will cause JVM failure:

Code: Select all

# An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment:
#  EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x100016be, pid=3420, tid=2092
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.6.0_03-b05 mixed mode, sharing)
# Problematic frame:
# C  [jlibnxt.dll+0x16be]
# An error report file with more information is saved as hs_err_pid3420.log
# If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:

from what I can see (and might be completely misleading ;)) the problem actually occurs within jlibnxt.dll. I was trying to load the dll using System.loadLibrary() hoping that this might be the problem. No success.

Please note that I am able to connect to NXT via USB when I am searching for it using,) and then methods. There is another issue with search I am having but this will need another post.

Thanks for looking into this problem
