I've liked lejos on the RCX, I played with that at "school". Now I'm the happy owner of an NXT with the cool new features and was hoping to put Java programs on it, like on the RCX. I also ordered the book "Maximum Lego NXT: Building Robots with Java Brains" from Amazon, but it's delayed until end of April. As the "book description" on Amazon mentions lejos, I'm wondering how the lejos progress and the release date of that book are related.. :) And just how things are going. Or should I start learning something else, like NXC? Suggestions?

The second alpha release of leJOS NXJ (leJOS for the NXT) is released today - see the news item on the web site.

The alpha releases are technology previews and on not that easy to use, but it is worth having a look to see how you get on with it.

Currently leJOS NXJ runs in RAM with the NXT in firmware update mode, so you get one run of a program per upload.
