leJOS 8.x, simulator source?

Postby jdtangney » Mon Mar 22, 2010 4:40 am

This is really cool, Herr Prof. Dr. Plüss! I have been playing with the online compiler and simulator. It took me a while to figure out the difference between oopNXJ and lejosNXJ. I think I got it in the end: oopNXJ uses your aplu library, while lejosNXJ uses the "native" leJOS classes directly.

But I have some questions.

1) The readme in the NxtJLibA download says that "This version runs only with NXT firmware version 0.7". Does that mean that it will not work with leJOS 0.8.5?

2) I love the simulator! I grabbed the simulationNXT.jar directly from the site (but I had to peek inside one of the .jnlp files to find it - the download link at http://www.java-online.ch/lego/legoEngl ... on.inc.php is broken). Where can I find more documentation on the simulator? For example, I want to know exactly what is simulates. And where can I get the source? Also, can I use the simulator with lejosNXJ as well as oopNXJ?

Thanks for this great contribution!
